Hi Everyone!
Hereby the promised update on things.
The good snow the latest days have been above treeline. We enjoyed some great skiing from blackcomb last sunday. Below treeline the snow has been more wet but has slightly improved the last few days with new snow and lower freezing levels.
The last 2 days has given a refill (+-20 cm) mostly around the whistler area at altitude from 12-1400 meters and higher. But also the Duffys did receive roughly 10-15 cm. For tomorrow (wednesday) there is an additional 10-20 cm to expect still with a freezing level at roughly 1200 meters. It looks like this snowfall will just be enough to get things more enjoyable below treeline again, which is very welcome. From thursday and onwards the snowing seems to stop completly or just give some flurries. With the clearing weather comes both colder temperatures, and chances for sunshine! So this should make for good touring!
The plan:
Thursday we go to Whistler Blackcomb and enjoy the snow with the help from the lifts, touring around the Decker and circle lake area.
Friday eyes are set on the Duffy area
Weekend, For Saturday and Sunday we most likely stick around the Duffy area making use of the road giving us a higher starting point. Probably we have to walk a bit to get to the good snow but luckily there are plenty of touring options where we can make use of logging roads and hiking paths that make for easier travel to get to, and from the goods.
