Ok. Looks like we have some snow on the way. Especially near the end of the week. Here are some considerations to keep an eye on.
1. STSG temps: If the temps stay lower than forecasted we will be in for a treat as this zone will receive the most precip. I'll update you all if this happens.... be ready to book last minute.
2. Longer days: This means heading deeper into the Whistler backcountry, I'm thinking places like Pattison, and Tremor for some long alpine runs. This of course needs good visibility. If the forecast changes or there is a break I'll let you know
3. Sled Access: Remember we have access to sleds through the BAC. I'll be communicating with Doug to make sure we get an opportunity to get up the Rutherford for some skiing... this can happen in MOST weather conditions, not just bluebird (however bluebird is very nice 😎)
4. Duffey Days: The Aurora Snow Shuttle is ready for you. We leave every day from Independent Grocery in Garibaldi Highlands at 7am. Best used on Duffey Days. I'd be keen on some Rhor Ridge, Cayoosh, and Joffre Lakes trips.
Schedule: I'm going to update the schedule for the most likely scenario.... however this can change as conditions change. BOOK NOW this way you are in the loop right away.
I'm looking forward to getting out there with you. Updated plan here: https://www.aurorabackcountrypass.com/forum/guide-announcments/whistler-wins-so-far
Tell me more about that Rutherford option! I’m off to sled camp this weekend. But when I’m back I’m hoping I’ll be competent enough to head up there. 😅
What’s the access like? Appropriate for a newb? Or for 2 of us newbs learning how to tandem without calling a divorce lawyer?
