The weekend outlook…….the good, the bad, the ugly!
Well it has been quite the weather week! We are about to experience the final blow today from the current Pineapple express. The good news is the the precip has been moist to wet snow above 1900m for most of the week. Alpine peaks and faces should be caked. Hopefully there was a good avalanche cycle on our snowpacks PWL’s up high. The forecast is for cooling temps and unsettled but generally nice weather for Saturday, with a little more snow on the ground by Sunday. With the cooling trend, low elevation terrain will be pretty rugged so I will keep this weekends plans as lift accessed to try and get to where there are chances for some new snow post pineapple event. There is also a
decent snowfall in the forecast for Tuesday next week. Freezing levels look mid mountain so hopefully chasing powder will be back in greater…

I would say Blackcomb Alpine would be our best bet. Exactly what would be determinant on visibility, access, and surface conditions. A little skiff of new snow would be nice somewhere along the way too! But yes, I understand the plan is a little vague but it will be a day hard to hang your hat on a specific objective.
