Things I learned today 14 Dec.
Hey Team ABC. Here are some random thoughts from 14 Dec tour with Rob. FWIW.
Trust the guide’s knowledge. No other clients except Dan Robb and myself. Skinned up Disease Ridge and did a couple laps into Chuting Gallery. Rob said there would be snow…..he was right. 40cm fresh. Decent pow for 2/3, then become thick.
Pissing rain in the valley but great time up top. Sheltered from wind, barely anyone around, great snow. Perfect way to work out the kinks of how to manage your pack when it is puking snow.
Be open to harsh weather especially if you are planning to do any traverses such as the Wapta. Gotta figure out how to manage layers, wet gloves, ugly conditions.
