Equipment

I wanted to take a moment and address adequate gear in the backcountry.

Having the right gear makes the day so much nicer.

For example, a backpack that is big enough to easily and safely store all your equipment and still have space for layers, lunch and water (no danglers). A good pair of sunglasses to wear on the uptrack saves your goggles from getting foggy. Most importantly this week will be ski/split board crampons. We live on the coast, whether mid winter or spring time, there will always be a firm crust some days. Ski crampons are imperative to being able to move efficiently and safely up and across crusty slopes. Best $90 you can spend!

Im sure if you have gear questions you can ask any of the guides here and we would be happy to provide our recommendations.

That being said, who’s coming skiing this weekend and next week. Fresh snow and sun, maybe still some crust….I’m stoked.
