Aurora Announcement
Hey everyone,
The wait is finally over—Aurora Backcountry Pass season is officially here, and the mountains are setting the stage for a great winter! While this week will begin with milder temperatures, a promising weather system is brewing, and it looks like the mountains might deliver the goods for us.

Here’s what we’re looking at for next weekend: models are showing significant precipitation starting Friday and continuing into Friday night, leading into Saturday morning. Even better? Temperatures are forecasted to drop Friday night. Think warm, wet snow to bond to the old surfaces, followed by colder temps that could bring nice, dry snow on top—essentially, a recipe for a good day in the mountains! 🧑🍳

If all goes to plan, Saturday morning could greet us with a fresh blanket of soft snow to put fresh tracks into. Make sure your gear is in shape and ready to go!
The Plan
This weekend, we’ll most likely focus on Whistler/Blackcomb, where the higher elevations should give us the best chance of finding good conditions. I’ll be out on Thursday and Friday to see how things are shaping up.
As we get closer to the weekend, I’ll finalize a more detailed trip plan based on the latest conditions. For now, things might look a bit bleak down low, but with this system moving in, it’s shaping up to be a promising start to December.
Make sure your gear is ready to go and keep an eye out for updates later this week. It’s time to dust off the skis and dive into what’s shaping up to be a great season!
See you out there,
Linus
