When I put photos in my profile image, they are upside down with no provision to fix it
Still no changes to your public profile. sometime is takes a bit. try changing it set it up. then lets wait a few days maybe it sorts it self out. I have noticed that sometimes images taken from a phone(which all are these days) can sometime be wonky with different programns.
