When the resort is so close...
Today, 3 awesome passholders and me, toured into the Blackcomb Backcountry. The Avalanche bulletin called for moderate wind slab in the Alpine. Based on my observations during our travel and a conclusive test result, I changed our route and we skied on another aspect, with some great snow ๐จ๏ธ ๐
Another skier was caught in a wind slab above Blackcomb Glacier (uninjured thankfully). The avalanche was on the ski field boundary, they were so close!
This is a timely reminder for us all to not get complacent, no matter how far you're venturing out of the ski resort.
